Space
Cloud storage that works like a local drive

Overview
Space started with the videos Ari and I publish every week on Matt & Ari. A single video can leave us with hundreds of gigabytes of footage, sometimes more than a terabyte. We filled hard drives, bought more, and eventually moved the old footage to the cloud.
That solved the storage problem but created another one. Whenever we needed an old clip, we had to download it first. A large project could take hours before we could work on it again. We kept thinking there had to be a better way, so we started building a new filesystem.
Space mounts cloud storage as a native drive and lets you open files without downloading them first. The long-term idea goes beyond the Mac: every device should have effectively infinite space, whether it is a computer, phone, watch, or pair of glasses. A file of any size should be ready on whichever device you pick up, without waiting for a transfer.
