Kortex

Kortex was our first attempt at a writing workspace for creators. It put notes, source material, PDFs, collaborative documents, and an AI assistant called Kai side by side. We also built real-time sync, desktop and mobile apps, and paid subscriptions with Stripe.

After two years and 100K signups, we shut Kortex down. The product did too many things without solving one problem well enough, so we started over with Eden. I wrote about what went wrong in Nine Lessons from a $3 Million Mistake.
